Product description

The newest PlaneTags are here - introducing Air Do Boeing 767-300ER PlaneTags, made from the actual fuselage skin from JA98AD, Air Do's first 767. This aircraft flew for Air Do its entire 22 year career - about 1079 laps around the globe!

Air Do was founded in 1996 as Hokkaido International Airlines. Nicknamed the "Wings of Hokkaido", the airline sought to establish itself as a low cost regional airline which would connect the prefecture with the rest of Japan. The airline began operating shortly after Japan approved a deregulation policy that allowed airlines to set fares on domestic routes, initially enjoying success from its competitive fares. It later became a subsidiary of All Nippon Airways and now operates 30 round-trip flights on 10 routes, with their current fleet of Boeing 767-300 and 737-700 aircraft.

OUR PLANE'S STORY

JA98AD emerged from Boeing's Everett, WA plant in February 1998, and was delivered to Hokkaido International Airlines, now Air Do, on March 27, 1998. It arrived at Haneda Airport in Tokyo in June 1998, the airline's only new aircraft at the time. It was used for training then went into service in December 1998, flying from Haneda to Sapporo. After 22 years of operation with the airline, it was withdrawn from service in January 2021. Its last flight took place on January 27, 2021 to its final storage place at Roswell, New Mexico.

Don't miss this chance to add Air Do Boeing 767-300 ER PlaneTags, dressed in the colorful "Hokkaido no tsubasa" (The wings of Hokkaido) livery, to your collection today.
